My research RR Ritchhart, Ron <[email protected]> Reply all| To: Francine Massue; Sun 2015-08-30 3:39 AM You forwarded this message on 2015-10-28 8:23 AM Action Items HI Francine, My apologies for the delay in responding. I’m not sure what happened to your email, though I suspect it got lost when I changed computers. At any rate, congratulations on your award that is quite exciting. Like you I wold expect that thinking routines would help students to engage with learning and develop certain learning skills. One thing I have been thinking about is how routines not only help students engage but might also help with memory. A routine like CSI for example can develop emotional connections to content that help memory. Likewise Word, Phrase, Sentence. A fe new routines like +1 and NDA are specifically designed to help do this. One area you might pursue is trying some of these routines with your students and then seeing how it effects memory. Of course a control group would be great if you can manage that. I am very excited by your research and feel that the Routines would accentuate my instruction. I am also very attuned to metacognition and the vision of brain research. My role at school is one of teaching the 'how' and 'why' of learning, study skills and reading/writing skills to students who need the extra help to succeed in school. I applied for a research grant from the Ministry (ALDI and Asset) here in Quebec based on your research and Routines and the grant was accepted in November 2014. I will be writing a blog LastSpam has detected a possible fraud attempt from "urldefense.proofpoint.com" claiming to be http://ed4success.blogspot.ca/ based on 2 issues: my instructional growth and my students strategic growth that will include my videos of lessons, lesson plans, photos of the student's work, videos of students reactions, feedback, my reflections etc. My website (LastSpam has detected a possible fraud attempt from "urldefense.proofpoint.com" claiming to be http://francinemassue.weebly.com/) will have my teaching videos and templates. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to how to proceed and any words that would help me in this endeavor. Thank-you for your attention to this matter, Francine Massue Francine Massue, M.A. Education, Concordia University; Special Education, McGill University English Resource Teacher Heritage Regional High School 7445 Chemin Chambly St. Hubert, QC J3Y 3S3 Canada tel: 450 678.1070 Ext 7067 WEBSITE: http://francinemassue.weebly.com/ BLOG: http://ed4success.blogspot.ca/ |
